Backstory
Born in the obsidian corridors between worlds, Nyarlapost is not merely a comment system — it is a bridge between the seen and unseen, a courier of thoughts that drift through the cosmic void. Crafted for creators who wish to embrace the strange and the sublime, it draws upon the ineffable essence of Nyarlathotep — the Messenger of the Outer Gods — to deliver discourse in ways both subtle and unfathomable.
Origin of the Name
The name Nyarlapost emerges from two sources: "Nyarlathotep," the deceptive, shape-shifting herald of Lovecraft's Dream Cycle, and "post" — the timeless act of sending a message. Together, they form a moniker both arcane and familiar, perfectly encapsulating a system that serves as a messenger across the eldritch expanse of the web.
Nyarlapost is currently in closed alpha release, available only to a select cadre of developers and seekers who are unafraid to commune with the unknown.
Features
- Static JSON comment hosting with fast delivery
- Turnstile protection for secure submissions
- XSS-hardened client script for embedding across domains
- Pluggable into both Ironquill Engine and Dreamlands CMS
- Easy moderation via external CMS
How to Use
Developers can embed nyarlapost.js into any page to render the comment system.
Backend endpoints handle both static JSON delivery for approved comments and KV-based storage for new submissions.
With minimal configuration, you can have an eldritch-ready comment section alive on your site.
